UAE receives << Delegation for Relations with the Arabian Peninsula in the European Parliament>>

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, received in his council in Abu Dhabi, the delegation for relations with the Arabian Peninsula in the European Parliament, headed by His Excellency Reinhold Loyatka, in the presence of His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak welcomed the European delegation, praising the role it plays in enhancing communication and cooperation between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

His Excellency stressed the importance of joint work to strengthen bilateral relations and develop areas of cooperation in issues of common interest, including culture, technology, trade, investment, energy, and human rights, and the UAE's keenness to build strong and solid relations with various international institutions, in a way that serves common interests and enhances cooperation in various fields.

His Excellency expressed his pride in the pioneering role played by the United Arab Emirates, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, in promoting the values ​​of cooperation and openness to the world, pointing out that the state always seeks to build strategic partnerships based on dialogue and mutual understanding, in order to achieve security, stability and sustainable development at the regional and international levels. He stressed that the UAE believes in the importance of international cooperation in facing common challenges and enhancing opportunities for peace and stability in the region and the world.

During the meeting, which was attended by His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, views were exchanged on ways to enhance the partnership between the UAE and the European Union and the importance of continuous dialogue to support regional stability and enhance opportunities for sustainable development.

On the other hand, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, held a discussion session today at the Council's headquarters in Abu Dhabi with the delegation of the Arabian Peninsula in the European Parliament, headed by His Excellency Reinhold Lopatka, and stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the two sides in a way that embodies the strategic partnership between the UAE and the European Union countries based on the foundations of mutual respect and common interests.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash welcomed the European Parliament delegation, which is visiting the country at the invitation of the Federal National Council, and said that this visit is an opportunity to enhance the discussion on issues of interest to both sides, at various levels, and an opportunity to listen to your views and discuss ways to develop parliamentary cooperation to be more effective in achieving our common goals and a bridge to enhance consultation and coordination.

The session was attended by Her Excellency Sarah Mohammed Falaknaz, Chair of the Friendship Committee with the European Parliament, Saeed Rashid Al Abidi, Chair of the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee, Khalid Omar Al Kharji, Sheikha Saeed Al Kaabi, Dr. Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, and Mira Sultan Al Suwaidi, members of the Friendship Committee with the European Parliament, His Excellency Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Council, and Her Excellency Afra Rashid Al Basti, Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communication.

He reviewed the role played by the Federal National Council at the level of parliamentary institutions and international organizations, stressing that the UAE believes in the importance of parliamentary diplomacy as a key tool for enhancing dialogue and mutual understanding.

He stressed the Council's keenness to work with the European Parliament to enhance direct dialogue channels that contribute to clarifying positions and enhancing common understanding, and stressed the importance of finding more sustainable mechanisms for parliamentary communication between the two sides.

He touched on the UAE's approach to strengthening its partnerships with various countries of the world, explaining that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the European Union countries is a strategic opportunity to enhance economic and investment integration between the two sides, and pointed to the role of parliamentary institutions in supporting the strategic directions of the two sides, which establishes a more prosperous and flexible economic, investment and trade partnership.

His Excellency discussed developments in the region and the world, and stressed that the UAE believes that peace is not just a political agreement, but a strategic approach to building a future based on stability and prosperity for the peoples and countries of the world.
